Your Worth Cannot Be Taken From You

By Lifestyle No Comments

Jealousy is one of the easiest temptations to fall into, it can demolish your self-worth quicker than you would believe. It comes out of nowhere and hits you like a ton of bricks. Sometimes it hits you in areas that you thought you were strong in. Jealousy rattles your brain, making you question, making you wonder, making you doubt your worth. Our world is constantly pressuring us with the ways they want to define us. We are defined by our looks, by our fitness levels, by our job, by our philanthropy, by our political views, by the home we live in, and honestly the list could go on for days. Jealousy is the byproduct of this pressure to be defined. We feel this need to live up to the standards set for us and that if we are not reaching our highest potential then we have failed.

Know this: you are more than what this world says you are. Your worth is not determined by this world. Your worth is something that cannot be taken from you. Your worth comes from within, your worth is God-given, your worth is undeniable. You are worthy of goodness, of happiness, of a beautiful and wonderful life.

Every single person on this Earth was created with a purpose. Each day that you are alive, each breath that you take is for a reason. You are here to bring goodness to the world, to help those around you, to make this world a little better than it was before. Take a moment to remember that you are right where you need to be. You are in this state, in this city, in this job for a reason. Be thankful for where you are now, grow in that moment, and do not let your self-worth be defined by this world.

When pangs of jealousy hit, remember that your worth cannot be taken from you. That jealousy is a symptom of a broken world, it is a byproduct of sin. Jealousy is inevitable, but you can fight it by remembering who you are. You are perfectly and wonderfully made. You were made in the image of a perfect Creator. You were made to do more than you ever dreamed possible.

As you go through your week, keep these things in mind.

You are worthy of love, trust and respect.

You are worthy of a good and happy life.

You are worthy of a job that you love.

You are worthy of a partner who loves and adores you.

You are worthy of the life you’ve always dreamed of.

You are worthy. Repeat that over and over until you believe it.

You were made in the image of a perfect, gracious God. He did not create you by accident. He loves and adores you and is your biggest advocate that you are worthy of so much more than you believe. Take heart that He loves and adores you just the way you are.

Arizona – The Final Chapter

By Lifestyle, RV Adventures No Comments

Arizona has been my husband and I’s home for the last three and a half years. It has been a place of incredible exploration and growth. Arizona holds a special place in our hearts. As we drove out of Arizona, I can’t help but tear up over the people we have met and the places we have seen.

Arizona is where my husband got his masters degree, its where he started medical school and had the true beginnings to his medical career. This is where I saw my husbands passion for helping others and fixing their aches and pains to give them a happy and long life.

Arizona is where I got my first grown up job and where I met some of the most wonderful amazing friends. It’s the place where I was challenged, where I was forced to get stronger, to develop more courage and to embrace the woman of God I was meant to be. Each day in Arizona has taught me so much, to believe in myself and to know that who I am IS GOOD ENOUGH.

As I look back on my time in Arizona, I am filled with endless thankfulness. Thankful for all the opportunities, struggles, growth and love that we have experienced here. I am thankful for the amazing places we have gotten to see (check out our Arizona Travel Guide!). This was in no way my first choice when we were talking about places to live, but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

For those of who wondering how you will survive in this world, how you will make it from each day to the next, let me be your voice of encouragement. To know that you are strong enough to move away from your hometown. To know that you have the courage to explore this world and all it has to offer. You have the love and kindness to take on each situation with grace and know that there is a God out there watching you and protecting you. Trust in Him. Trust that He is guiding your steps, that when you aren’t sure why you are heading down that path, that He has a plan for you.

As J.R.R. Tolkien once said, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” Decide today to accept the adventure ahead of you and embrace the change in your life!

Phoenix to Seattle

By RV Adventures, Travel No Comments

This past weekend my husband and I completed the first leg to our 4th year rotations! We drove from Phoenix, Arizona to Seattle, Washington and it was without doubt one of the most beautiful drives we have ever been on! Coming into the Pacific Northwest was like a dream, full of gorgeous mountains, sunrises and sunsets, and tons of scenic views to stop at.

There are times where you can’t believe where you are, where you can’t believe that this is your life. And there are times, good and bad, where I feel this way. However, this trip with my husband was one I will never forget or take for granted. We went through several states on this trip: Nevada, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Through this experience I have a few tips for the road if you ever take this drive!

1.) Take your time, there are several gorgeous stops along the way! One of our favorite stops was Shoshone Falls, a gorgeous waterfall in Twin Falls, Idaho. This waterfall is down a back road and a pretty steep mountain, but it has convenient RV parking and is completely FREE! There are multiple viewpoints to view the falls, and these falls are 45 feet higher than Niagara.

2.) Plan to stay at the larger truck stops. We were huge fans of Lowe’s truck stops. They all had great amenities and large parking spots to park our trailer for the night. It also helps staying there is free and gives you the opportunity to get some rest in a safe environment with a lot of people. I would recommend looking ahead and finding a Lowe’s to stay at on your next RV trip.

3.) Spend your first day exploring your new city! We did some of the most tourist driven activities we could. The observation deck on the Space Needle and Pike Place Market were our first stops!

The Space Needle had the most gorgeous views of the Olympic Mountains and the city of Seattle. With two floors to experience the views on, rotating floor views and slanted benches you will love every minute of your time on the Space Needle. If you are planning to see the Space Needle and some of the cities other attractions, I’d highly recommend looking into the city pass which will give you a cumulative discount on your activities. You can access the city pass here: Seattle City Pass.

Pikes Place Market is a bustling market full of fresh flowers, fresh fish, and tons of local vendors. There is something for everyone at this market and it’s open 363 days a year! You could spend hours getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the market, enjoying amazing fresh local foods, and viewing the Pugent Sound while you are at it!

It’s safe to say that the Seattle has stolen our hearts and we are thrilled to experience this amazing city! Culminating all of our travels into a fun Seattle Travel Guide that will come at the end of the month!
