Relaxation is the name of the game in Napa. While I admit I know very little about wine, I know I enjoy sweet white wine whenever I can. Past that, I don’t know names, specific flavors, or ways to drink wine; All I know is I enjoy wine, and I would like to learn more. The beautiful part about Napa is that you can come and enjoy everything they have to offer without being a wine connoisseur, too. I don’t know much about Napa, so today, I am going to show you what I would do in my time at Napa!
There is this gorgeous vineyard that I would personally love to stay at: Napa Vineyard House. It’s just a few minutes outside Yountville, CA – a mecca of all things California Wine. They have a gorgeous landscape for you to view out your window, and simple but beautiful amenities.
The number one thing I want to do while in Napa is go on a wine tasting/tour of a vineyard. If you are going to take the time to trek up to Napa Valley California, you must take the time to enjoy a fun wine tasting, and see how some of your favorite wines are made. Since I love white wine far more than red I have found a vineyard I would do a wine tasting at!
This thirty-five acre vineyard is filled with a variety of wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Rutherford has multiple chardonnay options to try, but (best of all) they have a dessert specialty- lemon white chocolate, which my husband would absolutely love! You can’t pass up some good dessert with your wine!
Finally, when looking for a place to eat, this is the one I would go: The French Laundry.
It is widely considered one of the best restaurants in the world. There are 2 tasting menus for you to choose from, each costing $310.00 for dinner. This restaurant prides itself on its 9-course tasting meal gives you a delicious feel for French cuisine. While it is a more expensive option, there is no doubt that the praise surrounding this restaurant would be well worth the price. The waiting list is very long, so, if you would like to dine here on your vacation, be sure to make a reservation in advance!
